This broken stone block from Byrsa Hill preserves part of a Latin inscription alongside decorative moldings. The surviving floral motif and bead pattern suggest it once formed part of a monumental building or commemorative structure in Roman Carthage. Such fragments help piece together the city’s architectural landscape, offering clues about its public spaces and inscriptions that honored emperors, officials, or deities.
Although incomplete, the craftsmanship of the carving reflects the integration of decorative and textual elements typical of Roman monuments.
