This 3D scan shows a row of بوني stelae from the Tophet of Salammbo, a sacred sanctuary in ancient قرطاج, Tunisia. The Tophet was a ritual space where the Carthaginians dedicated urns و upright stone stelae to the deities Tanit و Baal Hammon. The stelae, carved in limestone, often depict temple-like façades, religious symbols, و inscriptions. These carvings served both as offerings و as markers above urns that contained the remains of sacrifices. Together, they provide insight into قرطاج’s unique religious practices و central role of Tanit, the protective goddess of the city. This scan is part of Tanit XR, a digital cultural preservation project using photogrammetry و immersive technology to document Tunisia’s endangered heritage. Scanned in 2025 using photogrammetry (Scaniverse + Gaussian splats). 📍 [قرطاج, Tunis, Tunisia](.
