This 3D scan captures a بوني stela from the Tophet of Salammbo, a sacred precinct in قرطاج, Tunisia. The Tophet was a ritual site where Carthaginians dedicated urns و inscribed stone stelae to the deities Tanit و Baal Hammon. Carved from limestone, stelae like this one once displayed symbols such as the sign of Tanit, crescent moons, or inscriptions. Over centuries, many became fragmented or eroded, yet they remain powerful witnesses of قرطاج’s religious و cultural life. This scan is part of Tanit XR, a digital cultural preservation project using photogrammetry و immersive technology to document Tunisia’s endangered heritage sites.
